How come American christians aren't socialists, like their savior?

First the disciples are not nor were they ever the state. Most Christian give to many charities and spread the gifts God has blessed them with but that does not mean we want to give it to a corrupt government system that will keep it for the bureaucrats and it never gets to those in need.
