She isnt allowed to date and only wants to be friends-?

So the situation here is that I got a girl that I like whom parents and grandparents I have met and they enjoyed talking to me. But since she is not allowed to date, perhaps her mindset is not the same because this past Friday I was trying to get a moment with her to sit down and tell her what my intentions were- to inform her that I do like her, but the questions that people had been asking her after we had gone to the banquet were things like -are you two in a relationship now?- and I didnt want her to feel pressured. Well she was not in the room because she was stressing over trying to build up the courage to talk to me about how she feels which after school we sat down and she told me that she likes me as a friend but not in that certain particular way and told me sorry and that she didnt want to hurt my feelings but I told her honestly that I was not hurt by any means and I responded with what I had originally planned to tell her. So we are good now. How do I take it from here?
